Die Antwoord might just be a prank by the musical blogosphere to prove that hipsters will listen to absolutely anything that Pitchfork says is new and original. If that hypothesis is correct, I've just been punk'd. Die Antwoord are a bunch of kids claiming to be from Cape Town, South Africa rapping about ninjas in their weird little voices. I'm pretty sure they're a parody of M.I.A. It's all strangely addicting; I've listened to the album four times in a row since I downloaded it. (You should too.) Hopefully these guys will make it past the Youtube hype cycle and their debut $O$ will make some impact this year.
