Ko Xinyi, a one-girl-band from Singapore, has an alter ego: talktothewalls
And boy is her smile infectious!
Her music is ideal for fans of NeverShoutNever!, Terra Naomi,
and other similar singer-songwriter types.
The lyrics are light, and don't force too much thought,
but at the same time they create a certain, relatable bond with the listener.
Ko's voice is what I enjoy most, in her songs.
It's reminiscent of a young Hayley Williams (It never belts out at you, though).
It does, however, keep a constant, and sweet solidity to it.
She draws most of her attention from YouTube,
where she's been recording covers of artists including;
- The Knife
- Surfjan Stevens
- The Decemberists
- Death Cab For Cutie
- Hellogoodbye
and others...
